We’ve got an exciting programme of events coming up over the next six months and we’re looking for a Communications and Social Media Volunteer to come and help get the word out! Communications and social media volunteer

Freestyle Bristol is a digital platform curated by young people, for young people. Our work shines a light on young people in Bristol, and we offer ways for young people to join projects where like-minded people can meet and collaborate. We are a non-profit organisation and volunteers play an important role in helping us support young people.

We are looking for a Communications and Social Media Volunteer who can commit 2-4 hours a week to help promote our activities and develop our online presence. This role might suit a professional with a few hours to spare for a meaningful cause or possibly someone returning to work and in need of some experience. We are looking for someone who would be willing to work from home if needed, who can commit 2-4 hours one morning or afternoon per week, with some flexibility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To create engaging social media content and scheduling social media posts, liaising with staff as needed
  • To grow our followers and our visibility on social media platforms
  • To respond to enquiries received through social media channels or passing onto others where appropriate
  • To analyse and monitor the impact of our social media activities to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • To create and send regular email newsletters to keep in touch with our audience

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience working effectively with a range of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok and Twitter to extend reach and impact 
  • Experience creating email newsletters with Mailchimp
  • Ability to write engaging copy and design informative and eye-catching graphics using Canva
  • Ability to collect analytic data and produce basic reports
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Confident user of Instagram including running paid promotions and Instagram reels
  • Excellent verbal, written and communications skills
  • Self motivated with strong time management skills
  • Ability to work well within a team

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ability to edit basic videos for social media
  • Ability to capture photo /video content with a phone for social media
  • Positive can-do attitude
