The festival aims to harness the power of live events to bring people together for incredible music moments and lasting positive change.
Do you want to shoot at live music events, photograph artists, bands, musicians, speakers, festival goers and stages – with the chance to learn from industry professional photographers on location? How about an opportunity to develop your skills at Bristol’s brand new festival?
This year Big Team X Forwards will be bringing 4 aspiring photographers on a 4 day photography placement at our brand new festival. The successful applicants will get hands-on experience in the world of live music and professional festival shooting.
We are looking for keen individuals with the right attitude and desire to work in events – you don’t need to have a huge portfolio or large number of followers, just a good eye for shots and a hunger to learn more. We have cameras available on loan for the placement, so don’t worry if you don’t have your own.
What we are offering:
1 x Photography workshop with a professional photographer
1 x Behind the scenes tour of FORWARDS Festival with your photography mentor and Big Team
1 x 30 minute talk with FORWARDS Festivals lead photographer, on site discussing the development and impact of exhibitions
1 x 2 hr Festival walkthrough your professional festival photography mentor, helping you to understand how to shoot festivals
1 x Opportunity to photograph FORWARDS Festival 2022 with an exclusive Press Pass and pit access
You need to be available for:
Pre-show Workshop (2hrs) – Thursday 1st Sept,
Site & Exhibition visit (3hrs) – Friday 2nd Sept,
Forwards Festival show days – Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th Sept – full days shooting.
If this is the opportunity you have been waiting for, then be sure to apply via the link below and get your applications in by Tuesday 16th August.
Improving diversity in the events industry is at the heart of what we do and we encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds.
Other Information:
The successful applicants will need to come to the festival site for an orientation session, prior to their start date and will receive a full safety briefing on site. The role will be reporting into and supported by the project leaders during your placement.
