Jamz Supernova is set to play a five hour set for BBC 6 music ultimate jam session hosted by Bristol Beacon
Words: Azélie Bourassa
Trailblazing tastemaker, Jamz Supernova, is the driving force behind the next generation of radio DJs. With her regular spots on BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC 6 Music, Jamz is soon to be spinning the decks in an all-night DJ set at Strange Brew, Bristol, on December 9th.
Between the hours of 10pm – 3am, Jamz will be providing the high energy and in-your-face soundtrack for the night with her eclectic selections of UK funk, underground club cuts and breakbeat percussion-driven sounds.
Audiences should expect a melting pot of club sounds which will keep them moving and groovin’ into the early hours of the morning. Having graced the stage at big name festivals such as Parklife, Outlook and Glastonbury, Jamz is no stranger to the scene, and has gone on to launch her own record label, Future Bounce.
Championing emerging artists and celebrating underground talent across a spectrum of sounds, Jamz Future Bounce nights brings her love for the alternative and electronics to life, carefully curating a line-up of artists she loves to play-out to her audiences. Music Radar has described the Jamz Supernova taste and outlook as “eclectic, diverse and far-reaching, but resistant to snobbery or pretention: she’s after music that makes you feel something.” – which is exactly what to expect from this Bristol Beacon presented performance.
Matt Aitken, Music Programmer at Bristol Beacon said: “Jamz Supernova has always been a champion of emerging artists and talent, which is something that we truly value and appreciate here at Bristol Beacon, so we are thrilled to have her play for the people of Bristol. We can’t wait for Jamz to get the weekend started at Strange Brew.”
DIY bar, venue and exhibition space, Strange Brew, has also been the backdrop to unforgettable performances by Kinky Ceilidh, Stacey Doherty, Mark Seven & Wild Donna, and now with Jamz Supernova about to hit the stage, you don’t want to miss out!
