Freestyle Docklands was a series of media related activities and workshops aimed at those starting out on their creative journey and delivered at Docklands Community Centre. These sessions were delivered in partnership with Babbasa and involved experienced industry professionals talking about their work including journalism, podcasting and branding. We also had the opportunity to work with The Bristol Cable on a short film where some of our attendees took part in a discussion around the term ‘BAME’ as well as being involved in the video production itself.
“I really enjoyed the podcasting workshop with Neil, he spoke very well and gave an insightful perspective into podcasting. I found learning about the ideal conditions for recording a podcast and understanding interview techniques particularly useful as they are both important transferable skills that I believe can be applied to my future.”
“It felt great to be sitting alongside people of the same age and learning off each other. Social media can make it feel like we’re always supposed to compete with one another but at the session it felt like we were lifting each other up! Can’t wait for next week.”
